Terms of Service

These Terms govern access to and use of Movant, legal practice management software used by participating legal offices, their staff, clients, and other authorized users.

A legal office controls its professional relationship with its clients and remains responsible for legal services, legal judgments, recordkeeping duties, and the accuracy of information entered into Movant.

Users must provide accurate account information, protect their credentials, and use Movant only for authorized and lawful purposes. Office administrators are responsible for assigning appropriate roles and access.

Users must not attempt to access another office's data, interfere with the service, evade security controls, or use Movant to transmit unlawful or unauthorized material.

Google Calendar integration is optional. A user who selects Connect Google is redirected to Google and chooses whether to grant the permissions displayed on Google's authorization screen.

When authorized, Movant may read calendar metadata and events needed for synchronization, import connected Google events or availability, and write authorized Movant events to a selected Google calendar.

An office administrator may authorize Movant to create a dedicated Firm Docket calendar and manage sharing rules for the calendar Movant creates. Staff-level Google connections do not receive those office-calendar creation or sharing capabilities.

Users may disconnect in Movant or revoke access through their Google Account. Disconnecting stops future synchronization but does not automatically delete calendar entries previously copied to Google or authorized office records already retained in Movant.

Google Calendar is a third-party service governed by Google's terms and availability. More information about Movant's Google data practices appears in the Privacy Policy.

Calendar synchronization, reminders, email, and SMS are operational conveniences and may be delayed, duplicated, interrupted, or affected by third-party services. They must not be treated as the sole source of a court date, filing deadline, or other legal obligation.

Legal professionals remain responsible for verifying deadlines and maintaining procedures appropriate to their professional obligations.

Authorized offices may use Movant to send transactional SMS and email communications related to cases, accounts, documents, payments, and appointments.

Message frequency varies and message or data rates may apply. Where applicable, recipients may text STOP to opt out of SMS and HELP for assistance.

Movant handles information according to its Privacy Policy. Each office is responsible for ensuring it has authority to enter, access, use, and direct Movant to transmit the information it manages.

We work to keep Movant available and secure, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change as the service, applicable law, or third-party integrations evolve.

Access may be limited or suspended when reasonably necessary to protect the service or its users, respond to unlawful activity, enforce these Terms, address nonpayment, or comply with law.

Movant is software and does not provide legal advice. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties that it will meet every requirement or prevent every operational error.

To the extent permitted by law, Movant is not responsible for delays or failures caused by users, internet or communications providers, Google or other third-party services, courts, or events beyond Movant's reasonable control.

We may update these Terms as Movant changes. The updated date will be posted on this page, and additional notice will be provided when required.
